About Molescan Skin Cancer Foundation
Australia has the highest incidence of skin cancer in the world. Annually, over 380,000 Australians are treated for skin cancer and over 1,600 Australians die from this largely preventable disease. At least 1 in 2 Australians will be affected by skin cancer at some time in their life.
Mission
Molescan Skin Cancer Foundation has been established to provide education, information and resources for Medical Practitioners and the Community to make skin cancer history.
Activities
The Foundation has been working together with Wesley Research Institute in a Phase ll Study of Pl-88 with Dacarbazine on patients with Metastatic Melanoma.
This is in addition to coordinating a range of courses aimed at educating and up-skilling doctors who have a special interest in skin cancer. The Foundation’s next course is due to take place at the end of Skin Cancer Action Week: 24th & 25th November 2007.
The Foundation is currently coordinating a variety of skin cancer public awareness and fundraising initiatives.
